Social Justice

In order to work for social justice we need to understand the diversity of our cultures, our home environments, our influences, etc.  Building on that understanding, we educate people on timely social justice issues and help to illuminate social injustices to help stimulate change.

  • Programming includes advocacy through writings, participation and co-sponsorship of other relevant programming, and appreciation of the diversity in other religions.  The goal is to create the environment within which knowledge and understanding of the worlds’ faith and spiritual cultures can facilitate communication, build mutual respect, and support global communities and working environments.
  • Experiential learning includes student produced publications, Open Mind for Africa in honor of Dr. Louise Shoemaker, and support of students and groups who are engaged in social justice issues on campus.
