We at the CA aspire to "put our faith in action". We believe God calls us to work for justice in the lives of those around us and those most in need. We see this call to social justice work out on two levels -- both through direct service in relationship with vulnerable populations and also through advocacy regarding policy changes on a systemic level.

 

This year, our call to service and social justice will be seen in these events and programs. We invite you to be a part of them!

 

• Jesus, Bombs & Ice Cream (an event commemorating September 11th)
• Dana How Scholars (mentoring program)
• Peacemaking through the Arts (an after-school program aimed at reducing violence)
• Open Mind for Africa (understanding social justice issues in Africa)
• Partnering with Heeding God's Call (gun violence prevention / advocacy)
• Recommending Penn Community Against Mountaintop Removal (stopping the financing of mountaintop removal)

 

We are always open to new student-driven initiatives for service and advocacy. Please feel free to talk to any of us on staff if you have a new idea!
