Open Mind for Africa Reception

Dr. Sandra Barnes to be honored.

Please join us as we honor Dr. Sandra T. Barnes at the Open Mind for Africa reception as the recipient of the inaugural Open Mind for Africa Award on Friday May 7, 2010. The reception is at MidAtlantic, 3711 Market Street, and begins at 6pm.

Dr. Barnes is the founder of the African Studies Center at the University of Pennsylvania.  She is an accomplished author and renowned Anthropologist. 

At the reception three students will each be awarded $1,000 travel grants to help them do social justice work this summer in an African country.
