Reconnecting the body and the spirit
In today’s environment Rev. Dr. Beverly Dale often finds herself advocating a social philosophy that does not always resonate with the mainstream. As an activist and artist she uses her talents to communicate a socially responsible message. Using poetry, writing, and music, she challenges people to consider today’s issues in the context of their own body selves to create an awareness of their neighbor as well as the stranger.
For example, she works with young women to help them learn how to evaluate their choices in the context of who they are. She does not proselytize to a religious ideology, but rather, through advocacy and direct service, provides programming to develop positive body image and to make responsible choices for it.
PassionWorks is the name given to the sexuality ministry, which emphasizes sex-positive ethics and sexual justice, particularly with regards to domestic partnerships, emergency contraception, and sexual minority rights.
