Carl Foreman, 2005

"Grad school life is ridiculous and I don't have home internet these days (unless I hijack some wireless).  I'd like to say that during my time at the CA as an undergrad I found it to be a home, with a family. I really looked forward to the fellowship with you and Gary, you guys were my favorite.  I remember some of the talks we had that really served to make me think, and rethink how I thought about my own spirituality.  I remember hanging out with Gary in the kitchen over some food from the cart around the corner.  There were always positive people around like Christine Myers '06, Andrine Wilson '06, Sarah Forcino '07, and the CA felt like a place at Penn that was much more about what it said it was about, and less about appearances, and that was refreshing. Farralon put it best I think when I started working there. "What are you doing? These are MY super-liberal Christians!"; which I think encapsulates the safe haven feel that the CA had for us as students. I hope all is well! Hopefully I'll start earning big money some day so I can give money to the CA.

Peace,

Carl"
