Rob Gurnee

Rob became Executive Director of the Christian Association in August of 2010. He is responsible for providing the leadership, vision and direction for the organization. He is also responsible for fundraising, organizational development and operations to support the growth and development of the organization.

Rob came to the CA with some twenty-five years of combined business and community building experience, and is motivated by his faith and a commitment to social justice. Prior to joining the CA, Rob was the mostly-volunteer Executive Director of the Interfaith Coalition Building Blocks for Wilmington for 5 years. The Interfaith Coalition mobilizes faith leaders from diverse faith traditions, along with community based organizations, residents and youth, to create safer and spirit lifting lives in the high crime and poverty neighborhood of West Center City in Wilmington, DE. Rob’s “day job” at this time was with Incite Solutions, a software development and information management firm that specializes in technology solutions for nonprofit organizations.

A graduate of American University (B.S. Political Science) and Emory University School of Law (J.D.), Rob had a successful career in banking and finance prior to undertaking ministry work. He has engaged along the entire spectrum of processes from strategic planning to organizational development, marketing and operational execution. His career evolved from senior management positions at a number of established institutions to owning his own socially conscious finance company.

Not a member of any particular denomination, Rob primarily worships at the chapel service of the Episcopal Church of Saints Andrew and Matthew in Wilmington. He lives in Chadds Ford, PA with his wife Kathy, two sons…Wes (age 12) and Mike (age 6) and their hound dog, Lulu. He and his family enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, sports and music.
